“Then the King will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, anything you did for even the least of my people here, you also did for me.’”
Matthew 25:40 NCV
How we treat people, what we say, what we give, what we do and what we don’t do, we do to God.
That’s a pretty big deal. How are we measuring up? Are we slandering others, mistreating people, walking right past people in need? Remember. We are doing that to God, himself.
I believe we ALL have something to give. Whether it be a meal for someone who is struggling, an encouraging word, a smile, a forgiving heart, an act of service, our time, a listening ear… At some point, we have all needed something. In turn, we are all equipped and gifted with something to give and share.
Your giving matters. It matters to people, but most importantly it matters to God. Find something to give to someone today. Don’t make it easy or comfortable.
Pay for a meal for someone, tip the server more than you were going to, take the time to turn off the distractions and really listen to someone. Hold your tongue and speak positively to and of someone. Volunteer your time and services to someone or some organization in need. Give a charity and donate. Help someone carry their groceries.
We are aware about the horrible conditions of the World, we see people being mistreated, we see the injustice, people going hungry, and we may even feel a deep sorrow about it. But what are you doing (great or small) to make it better?
When we look at people as a beautiful creation of God, we are much more careful about what we say, what we do, how we do it and what posture we have when doing it. We are happy to serve God in that way; by taking care of His people.
Imagine how we would impact the world if we all stepped out of our comfort zones and just gave a little more.
